On the day after what would have been the season 22 premiere of *The Bachelorette*, many fans are still asking the same questions in the aftermath of the Taylor Frankie Paul controversy, including will we ever see the footage? ** dives into the burning questions.

Is there still a chance Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of The Bachelorette could air?

When a Disney spokesperson announced last week that Paul’s season of the dating show had been pulled following the release of new footage from her 2023 domestic violence arrest, many eagle-eyed fans pointed to the use of "at this time" in the statement — suggesting the episodes could be released at a later date. (The full statement read: "In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of *The Bachelorette* at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family.”)

While there have been no further comments from ABC, Disney or Warner Bros., which produces the franchise, the executives could be waiting for Paul’s next court appearance to make any new decisions, like potentially dropping the show on streamer Hulu or elsewhere. Paul and ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen are due in court on April 7 after he was granted a temporary restraining order against her and temporary custody of their 2-year-old son, Ever. Paul is likely to address Mortensen’s new allegations — including his claims that she choked him and allegedly attacked him in his car during two separate February incidents — for the first time at the hearing.

Paul is also on probation until August as part of her plea deal from the 2023 arrest. Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gilland told EW last week that their office "requested the police report” from the February incidents “so our prosecutors could evaluate how those new allegations may affect the case for which the defendant is currently on probation." Whether or not Paul is in more legal trouble could have a direct impact on whether or not the footage from her season ever sees the light of day.

Paul’s future on *The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives* remains up in the air as season 5 has paused production amid the investigation into the alleged incidents between Paul and Mortensen. NBC News reported that several women on the show expressed concerns about Paul during a March 7 meeting with Disney execs. Hulu has not replied to EW's request for comment.

What will happen to the men on Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of The Bachelorette?

Two sources confirmed to EW that Paul’s *Bachelorette* contestants attended a meeting with Warner Bros. on Thursday, the same day that ABC made the announcement to pull the show. The nature of the meeting was to inform the group that their contacts remain in place for a year whether or not the footage airs. EW reached out ABC and Warner Bros. about the meeting.

While one source claims that other franchise opportunities — including potentially appearing on spinoff *Bachelor in Paradise* — were brought up during the meeting, EW understands that no casting for season 11 of *BIP* is taking place at this time. (The spinoff, which hit a ratings low during summer 2025, also hasn’t been officially for season 11 yet.)

The same source noted that the men had conversations among the group about whether or not they could take legal action for being put in a dangerous situation with Paul as the lead. (Paul’s 2023 arrest was public record and played out on season 1 of *Mormon Wives*. The new allegations came after Paul wrapped *The Bachelorette*.)  They have yet to actually take any legal action.

Could Taylor Frankie Paul’s winner be the next Bachelor?

Two sources told EW that the only contestant not present at the aforementioned meeting with Warner Bros. was Doug Mason.

Spoiler alert: Mason has been reported by *Bachelor* blogger Reality Steve (and via paparazzi photos) as the "winner" of Paul’s season.

While the network and production companies haven’t even confirmed if season 30 of *The Bachelor* is in the works, some fans have suggested that Mason would make sense to hand out roses as the franchise has historically loved a second-chance story when a contestant was wronged (see: Becca Kufrin becoming the Bachelorette when Arie Luyendyk Jr. changed his mind and ended things to propose to his runner-up.)

The day after the cancellation news, Mason spoke out and sent love to Paul.

“In light of everything that has happened, I am just sending prayers to Taylor because that was her moment and her moment was blocked. All we can do right now is just be hopeful, and I am headed off to run to watch the sunrise,” he said via Instagram Stories. “I hope you guys have a great day, and let’s stay positive and show nothing but support for people in need.”

Speaking of Paul’s social media activity, the reality star had an active weekend online despite the turmoil in her personal and professional life. When one user asked why Paul was spending time on social media, she replied that it’s her “job” and she still “has to work” amid the scandal. She asked another user, “Want me to stare at the wall instead?”

She was also spotted back in Utah on Saturday following a press trip to New York. She may have sent a message with her outfit choice, sporting a cheeky sweatshirt that reads, “Can’t Wait To Sleep With You.”

While son Ever remains in Mortensen’s custody until at least the April 7 hearing, Paul also shares two older kids with ex-husband Tate Paul. TMZ reported via an apparent photo that Tate was seen at the Utah courthouse on the same day that Mortensen filed his restraining order, but it’s unclear if Tate took any legal action of his own.
