Even amid her ongoing family drama, Victoria Beckham stands by her “children first” approach.
During an appearance on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle on Tuesday, April 21, the 52-year-old fashion designer was asked about navigating her “pretty challenging year” with husband David Beckham.
“We always put our children first,” Victoria shared. “We love our children so much and have always really focused on protecting our children, but we laugh a lot. David Beckham is really, super funny.”
The couple, who have been together for 30 years, share four children — sons Brooklyn, 27, Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 21, and daughter Harper, 14. After months of a rumored rift between Brooklyn and his parents, Brooklyn made headlines in January when he publicly condemned Victoria and David on social media, accusing them of putting the Beckham brand before their children.

While on the live morning show, Victoria was asked by co-host Jenna Bush Hager about how she handles the “tough times." Bush Hager also acknowledged they had previously discussed some of her family's struggles on the show.
“You know, myself and David, we're so close and we have incredible people around us,” Victoria shared. “We're close to my parents and David's parents. We support each other through everything that we do.”
She added of her decades-spanning romance with the retired soccer star, “We've grown together. And that's where I feel so blessed. We really have grown together. We support each other. We've both got big dreams. We're both very, very ambitious and we support each other. I want him to be the best version of himself and that's what he wants for me.”

As for her current state after recently turning 52, Victoria remained optimistic.

“I feel like I'm in a really good place,” she said. “I think the great thing about getting older, you genuinely care less about what people think. You accept who you are, you embrace who you are. You make the best of what you've got. You look in the mirror and you go, ‘OK,' you look at what's OK versus focusing on what you don't like.”
Back in January, Brooklyn slammed his parents in lengthy Instagram Stories posts.
“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life,” he wrote at the time.
Brooklyn claimed that his family tried to sabotage his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, multiple times, citing their 2022 wedding and David's 50th birthday party in 2025.

According to Brooklyn, attending big, publicized moments is a major priority for his family, whom he said "values public promotion and endorsements above all else ... Brand Beckham comes first. Family 'love' is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo."
During a recent profile for WSJ. Magazine, Victoria addressed the topic of her eldest son publicly for the first time.
“I think that we've always — we love our children so much,” she said at the time. “We've always tried to be the best parents that we can be. And you know, we've been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we've ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that's all I really want to say about it.”
