The Seattle Seahawks have one of the best young defenders in football in cornerback Devon Witherspoon. Ever since he was the No. 5 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft, Witherspoon has been an absolute star at his position and a cornerstone of the Seahawks' defense. He has been named to the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons in the league, and is already a Super Bowl champion.
However, turns out those accolades weren't good enough to be considered one of the 100 best players in the NFL. Every year, the NFL releases its list of the Top 100 players in the league. We are not yet complete with the 2026 edition of this list, with the latest entry being Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert at No. 39. But we do know a handful of names who did not make the cut.
Coming in at No. 107 is none other than Devon Witherspoon.

The list is voted upon by active players in the league, and it appears Witherspoon's peers from across the NFL landscape are not as impressed by him as those in the national media or Pacific Northwest are. But no matter. A ranking on a list doesn't change how he is viewed in the Seahawks' organization, where he is likely on the verge of a market-resetting contract extension.
Devon Witherspoon chose the perfect moment to have the best game of his career, which was in Super Bowl LX. Witherspoon logged four tackles, three quarterback hits, a pass defense and caused the game-sealing pick-six to Uchenna Nwosu.
