- Scott Wolf is opening up about how it felt last year for his family's private matters to be made public.
- In June 2025, the *Party of Five* actor and his wife Kelley Wolf announced their separation after 21 years of marriage.
- Soon after, Scott requested a temporary protective order and Kelley was ultimately ordered by the court to seek mental health treatment.
Scott Wolf is acknowledging one of the downsides of being a public figure.
Last June, the *Party of Five* actor and his wife Kelley Wolf announced their separation after 21 years of marriage. "While I will not speak publicly about the details," she said, "I feel peace knowing that I've done everything I can to walk this path with integrity and compassion."
Within days, however, the private family matter became public when the *Real World* alum was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold and Scott sought a restraining order. Two months later, Kelley was arrested for alleged online harassment of her estranged husband. In September, she was ordered by the court to spend 60 days in a mental health facility – and subsequently, Scott requested to dismiss the temporary protective order against Kelley.
Every single episode during that time played out in the press. Nearly a year later, he's now reflecting on the public rollercoaster.

"I was pretty shaken by it," Wolf admitted on *Whine Down With Jana Kramer*. "Because it’s just bizarre… Things would happen, and it's in *People* magazine two days later. It was wild."
Privately, at home, he had to communicate with his three children – Jackson, 16, Miller, 13, and Lucy, 11 – what was really going on with their mother. Specifically, with his youngest, Wolf felt it was important to separate fact from fiction.
"Every time I could sit down with my daughter and say, 'Hey, this kind of thing might get said and I want you to know this is how I feel about it and I want you to know you’re safe for these reasons. This is the truth; you might hear this,'" he recalled to Kramer on her podcast. "And then I can just sort of breath and go, 'whatever she's exposed to,'" she knows the real story about what was happening.
Leading up to the dissolution of his marriage, "I went through a really low period a couple years ago," Wolf also revealed to Kramer. "It was really hard for me because I had this unhealthy version of SuperDad: perfect, never flawed, never breaks, never cracks, never isn’t there for you 100 percent. And I had to recover from that."
"What came out the other side was this really remarkable new thing, which was so much more authentic," he continued, "and ultimately the previous thing… was really an illusion."
A representatives for Kelley Wolf did not immediately respond to EW's request for comment.

Now, the former couple and their three children are on the path to "healing," the word he used to caption a February photo of the family spending a day together at Universal Studios Hollywood.
"We are committed to being honest, authentic, and loving to ourselves, to each other, and for our children," Scott said in a statement to PEOPLE. "We thank everyone for their love and support."
