PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — Commuters across Pasco County should brace for brake lights this week as state road crews set up work zones on several major highways, parkways, and local corridors.

The Florida Department of Transportation District 7 issued its lane closure list covering Sunday, October 18, through Saturday, October 24, 2026. The projects will impact daily routines along I-75, U.S. 41, State Road 54, State Road 56, and the Suncoast Parkway.

Overnight travelers will feel the first pinch starting Sunday evening. State Road 39 will have lane closures and flagging operations between north of Central Avenue and U.S. 301 (Gall Boulevard) from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. each night through Thursday morning, October 22.

Work on State Road 54 near Altamont Lane will also close lanes overnight from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. Out east, State Road 56 will have nighttime lane closures between west of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard (County Road 581) and east of Shops Lane from 8:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Sunday through Thursday.

On Interstate 75, drivers using the southbound Exit 279 ramp to County Road 54 (Wesley Chapel Boulevard) will hit lane closures starting at 8 p.m. Monday, October 18, running until 6 a.m. Tuesday, October 19. All turn options will remain open at the bottom of the ramp.

Daytime restrictions kick off Monday morning, October 19, across several busy stretches. In Land O’ Lakes, U.S. 41 will see lane closures at Lake Patience Road daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Friday, October 23. State Road 54 at Henley Road will undergo daily lane closures during those same hours Monday through Friday.

Around the Suncoast Parkway (State Road 589), the right-turn lane on the southbound exit ramp to State Road 52 will see partial or full daily closures from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with turns remaining accessible. The eastbound State Road 52 left-turn lane onto northbound SR 589 also remains partially closed on its west end around-the-clock until further notice.

Pedestrians and cyclists should keep in mind that access to the Suncoast Trail Trailhead from Touchpoint Drive remains shut down 24/7 through summer 2027.

FDOT urges drivers to plan ahead, leave extra travel time, and remain alert for highway workers and shifting traffic patterns throughout the week.
