Police are seeking the public’s help in finding a missing teen in New Orleans.
Terryella Washington was last seen on Saturday, Sept. 12, at approximately 3 p.m., according to a press release shared on social media by the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD).
Washington, 16, was seen exiting a vehicle on Louisiana Avenue and Magnolia Street, heading eastbound onto Magnolia Street, according to NOPD.
Police added that the teen was reported missing by the person driving the vehicle she was last seen exiting, though they did not disclose the relationship between Washington and the driver.

Washington is described is approximately 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs about 160 lbs.
She was last seen “wearing a dark gray hoodie, black jogging pants and black Cocs with a black bonnet on her head,” per the NOPD release.
Authorities added that the teen has a history of running away and “is diagnosed with major depressive disorder, PTSD and oppositional defiant disorder.”

NOPD listed the teen as a “runaway” in the release.

In a caption accompanying the release, NOPD stated that this is currently an active investigation and urged the public to avoid posting “speculative” comments about the case.
NOPD did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
