Naomi and Adam Scott make a great team.
During the premiere of The Saviors at the SXSW Film & TV Festival in Austin on Friday, March 13, the couple spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about working on the thriller together and what makes them great collaborators.
Naomi explained that “you never know” how working with your spouse will go, adding that “it’s like a roll of the dice.” Though she believes she and Adam “work well together.”
“On our first film, about 10 years ago, we tried, and it worked,” she said. “He also has a day job, so it makes it easier. We have a little bit of distance day to day."
The Severance star chimed in to praise his wife, saying, “I like to frame it as when it comes to producing and when it comes to our company, Naomi is pushing boulders up the hill, and I’m like 50 yards behind her picking up any pebbles that have gone astray. You know? So, for me, it’s getting out of the way and seeing if there’s anything I can do, any cleanup I can do. But mostly, it’s all Naomi.”

The Scotts founded their production company Gettin’ Rad Productions in 2012, shortly after they welcomed their first child. (The couple are parents to son Graham, 19, and daughter Frankie, 16.)

"I had taken a bit of time off when we had our first child, and I was heading back to work when I realized that the hours I was going to be working on someone else's show were going to be so great that I was not going to see not only my child, but also my husband. So we hatched a plan one night," Naomi told SAGindie. "We took the chance and started a company and really came up with our first series idea, which we did for Adult Swim, called The Greatest Event in Television History."

Since then, the duo has worked together on various shows and movies under the company, including FOX’s Ghosted, Other People, The Overnight and Fun Mom Dinner.
In a 2019 interview with SheKnows, Adam spoke of their relationship, saying, “I couldn’t do it without Naomi. We have a great partnership at home and professionally, so it makes the family juggling act that much easier when we can all be together.”
The Scotts' latest collaboration is The Saviors. Adam stars in the film directed by Kevin Hamedani as Sean Harrison, while Naomi serves as its producer.
The comedy thriller follows Sean and Kim (Danielle Deadwyler), a suburban couple whose lives take an unexpected turn when they rent their garage to mysterious tenants Amir and Jahan, played by Theo Rossi and Nazanin Boniadi, respectively. The Saviors also stars Ron Perlman, Kate Berlant and Colleen Camp.
