Miley Cyrus has reportedly hinted that her new era is around the corner, as her social media handles and website underwent rebranding. In a seemingly surprising move, the Flowers singer had ditched her last name, and this change potentially took place after her signing with Atlantic Records in July 2026.

Though the singer has yet to announce the decision behind dropping Cyrus from her name, her fans are already hyped about what is yet to come. Some even claim that her ‘MILEY era’ could propel her to new heights of fame.

Miley Cyrus Debuts New Name After Teasing New Music

On Aug. 31, 2026, Miley Cyrus changed her Instagram username, dropping her last name and changing it to MILEY. Her username was also changed to @miley, and she posted two new red and black photos of herself, one of which was captioned, “MILEY.” The move takes place days after herheartfelt tribute to Dolly Parton and a month after her signing with Atlantic Records.

The 33-year-old singer also quietly revamped her website, redirecting her fans to mileyofficial.com, a new domain, where she is now featured simply as “MILEY.” The seemingly unexpected change comes after she previously discussed her upcoming album and what it means to her.

During an interview with Wonderlandmagazine, Daryl Hannah asked the Angels Like You singer about her next record and if it would be “filled with love songs?” Cyrus replied, “This album is a love story, but love stories are never one-dimensional. They’re always layered. There is definitely a romantic thread weaving through it because, like all my records, it’s a reflection of where I am in my life.”

She continued that the upcoming album is “especially meaningful” to her because it has stayed with her through different stages of her life. “That’s something I hadn’t really experienced before. A peaceful kind of love has become a theme across my last three records,” she added. “Not just the love I share with someone else, but the love I’ve found form self.”

Cyrus called this change the “biggest evolution” and explained that once her relationship with herself changed, then every bond around her would change as well. “I think this record celebrates both of those equally,” she concluded.

Fans Say New Miley Cyrus Branding Will Bring Her ‘Legendary Status’

The singer’s fans are certain that her decision to become part of the ‘one-name star’ club would bring her immense fame, even claiming her surname was part of a “supporting act.”

A user tweeted, “MILEY alone actually sounds more iconic.” Another fan said, “Fight me if you want, but she’s legendary enough to just go by Miley.”A third user added, “Imagine Miley being so iconic you really only need to say her first name for everyone to know who you’re talking about.”

A user remarked, “Honestly, she could have done this a long time ago, and it would still be valid.” A user said, “Miley just joined the one-name stars club. Cyrus who? Mysterious new era incoming now!” A fan wondered, “Is this the whole “It’s Ye now” thing but for women?”
