Mary J. Blige revealed to PEOPLE the advice she has for Super Bowl Halftime Show headliner Bad Bunny

“Bad bunny, kill it,” said the nine-time Grammy winner
Mary J. Blige is sending “blessings” to Bad Bunny ahead of Super Bowl LX.
Speaking exclusively with PEOPLE at the premiere of Lifetime’s Mary J. Blige Presents Be Happy at Hearst Tower in New York City on Feb. 4, the 55-year-old musician discussed whether she has any advice for this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show headliner.
“Um, I don’t think Bad Bunny needs any tips. He performs for billions and trillions of people. He’s a great performer,” said Blige, who has performed at the 2001 and 2022 Super Bowl halftime shows.

Bad Bunny will headline the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., on Sunday, Feb. 8.
“He’s gonna body it. He’s gonna murder it. I just say blessings to you. Bad bunny, kill it,” Blige, a nine-time Grammy winner, added.
The “Family Affair” singer famously made her halftime show debut in 2001 — performing alongside Aerosmith, *NSYNC, Britney Spears and Nelly — at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla.
Blige returned to the Super Bowl as a performer in 2022 — performing alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent and Anderson .Paak — at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.

At the movie event on Feb. 4, Blige recalled her halftime shows.
“I was excited and nervous all at the same time, and my goal was to get it done and be Mary J. Blige, you know, to the a millionth power,” she said.
Mary J. Blige Presents Be Happy, executive produced by Blige and her production company Blue Butterfly Productions, premieres on Feb. 7 on Lifetime.
