Is Katie Holmes hinting that she wants to rekindle a romance with Joshua Jackson?
In an Instagram post celebrating the reunion with her former Dawson's Creek costar in their new movie Happy Hours, the actress-filmmaker, 47, hit the like button on several lovey-dovey comments.
The April 16 post shows a professional shot of Holmes with her arms around Jackson, 47, with the caption, “We are so thrilled to be a part of the Tribeca Film Festival this June with our film Happy Hours. So many beautiful people worked on this project. And working with Josh again was a dream.”
Holmes evidently “liked” the messages from many enthusiastic commenters. “They should be a couple,” wrote one such message. Another wished the post “was a hard launch” for a romantic relationship between the two old friends.

Holmes and Jackson did indeed date for a year early in the filming of Dawson's Creek between 1998 and 1999. The costars continued working together until the WB teen drama ended in 2003. The pair recently walked the red carpet together at the New York Gala screening of Brunello: The Gracious Visionary in New York City on April 14.
Happy Hours, premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 6, is a New York City-set drama about two former lovers reuniting "years after their relationship ended without closure," per a synopsis. Holmes wrote, directed and starred in the feature, which costars Mary-Louise Parker, Joe Tippett and Constance Wu.

“Katie wrote this beautiful story for the two of us,” Jackson said on the Today show in March, raving about the project. “There are these people in your life — she's a lifelong friend now — and for us to be able to go back and do this again, and, honestly, for her to be able to create that space for us was kind of magical.”
Jackson married Jodie Turner-Smith in 2019 and had daughter Juno before splitting in 2023. Holmes was married to Tom Cruise from 2006 to 2012; the exes share daughter Suri.
Happy Hours does not yet have a theatrical release date.
