Kate Hudson had a very special person by her side at the 2026 Actor Awards: her older brother.
The actress, 46, attended the star-studded awards show on Sunday, March 1, with one of her siblings, fellow actor Oliver Hudson. On the carpet, she revealed that Oliver, 49, was actually a last-minute replacement for her fiancé, Danny Fujikawa.
“This is an impromptu,” Kate revealed to Entertainment Tonight of the brother-sister duo’s sibling date, as Oliver echoed that it arose out of a “last-minute situation.”
“Danny got, like, crazy sick,” the Song Sung Blue actress added, “and I was like, ‘Oliver, you need to be my date!’ ”

Oliver then revealed that he had to dig deep into his closet for the Actor Awards appearance, pointing to his tuxedo and telling ET that the suit is 18 years old.
“It’s literally vintage Tom Ford, because I’ve just had it for that long,” he said, as Kate added that he bought it for the premiere of his sitcom Rules of Engagement, which began airing in 2007.
"I’m not a stylish man,” added Oliver.
Kate was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role at the ceremony for her turn as Claire in Sung Sung Blue.

Kate and Oliver are two of four children in Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn's family. Hawn, 80, welcomed the pair with ex Bill Hudson, and they have two other siblings: Wyatt Russell, whom Hawn welcomed with longtime love Kurt, 74, and Boston Russell, whom Kurt welcomed with ex-wife Season Hubley.
Hudson has been engaged to musician Fujikawa — with whom she shares daughter Rani Rose, 7 — since 2021, but the pair knew each other for much longer.
As the Oscar nominee put it in a 2017 Instagram post marking the first anniversary of their first date, the pair ran in the same social circle "for over a decade" prior to their friendship turning romantic.

Though he missed the Mach 1 ceremony due to illness, Fujikawa was by Kate’s side at the 2026 Golden Globes and the 2025 AFI Fest premiere of Song Sung Blue.
The film is based on the real-life Neil Diamond tribute band Lightning & Thunder. Claire formed the band with Mike Sardina (played by Hugh Jackman) in 1989, before their professional relationship turned romantic.
Hudson is also nominated for her role in Song Sung Blue at the 98th Academy Awards, set for Sunday, March 15.
