Former on-air colleagues Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck reunited Tuesday at *The View*'s Hot Topics table and remained silent on past drama, when Hasselbeck publicly criticized the comedian and the "sinking" talk show after the 83-year-old voiced disdain for Carrie Underwood's decision to perform at Donald Trump's January 2025 inauguration.
Though Hasselbeck, a former cohost from 2003-13, rejoined the show Monday for a weeklong guest gig, the ex-peers didn't formally reunite on the air until Tuesday, as Behar typically has Mondays off.
After walking out to the Hot Topics table alongside Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, and Sara Haines, the duo didn't acknowledge their past drama, despite Hasselbeck publicly criticizing both Behar and her former workplace amid news of Underwood's performance at the presidential event.
"I missed you yesterday, Joy," Hasselbeck told Behar, who replied, "It’s like the old days with me and Elisabeth, how long were we here together?"

Hasselbeck then claimed that she and Behar "are like family," which Hostin confirmed by telling Hasselbeck that Behar disapproved of her blue, patterned dress, quipping, "You know you’re close to Joy when she starts making fun of the clothes you’re wearing."****In early 2025, Hasselbeck voiced criticism for Behar's remarks about Underwood, writing on her Instagram Story, "Joy — @carrieunderwood is an INCREDIBLE WOMAN. You could learn from her strength."
She also posted a staunch criticism on X, which read, "That @TheView @JoyVBehar needs to simmer down off my friend," and later expanded her thoughts on Behar "calling Carrie Underwood Un-American." It should be noted, however, that Behar never used the phrase "un-American" in her comments about Underwood on that week's episode of *The View*.**

Hasselbeck also appeared as a guest on Sean Hannity's Fox News TV show to address her views on Behar. She said on the air at the time that *The View *(which previously invited Hasselbeck back as a guest cohost in 2022, and again as a guest for Barbara Walters' tribute episode in January 2023), in her estimation, "refused to put anyone there who has a lick of sense on most days."**** She added that Behar's criticism of Underwood felt, to her, like "nothing more than selfish personal publicity-gaining right now," and that Behar "wants to attach her name to Carrie Underwood’s name so that she maintains relevance because she knows the ship is sinking."

Hasselbeck's first day back at the Hot Topics table — which came amid a revolving door of conservative guest cohosts during Alyssa Farah Griffin's maternity leave — was dramatic from the start, with the *Survivor* alum calling for civility among women as she took her seat.

"And, listen, civil discourse is not dead. We might have differences of opinion, but we love each other and we're stronger," Hasselbeck said on the show.
"I actually think for the young people watching it's important to see that you can have — Whoopi, you've said it before — we can hold our positions in one hand, and each other's hand in the other, and be able to just live as Americans with the freedom that we have and speak our hearts and minds," she continued. "We get to do that all week. It might get a little spicy at times, but we do not hate each other, we love each other. We have the freedom to do it, and it's important to remind everybody of that."
Moments later, Hostin called Hasselbeck out for voting for Trump, to which Hasselbeck replied, "I proudly voted for Trump because the alternative was not great, and we'd absolutely be under the wrong power if the alternative [was elected]."
*The View *airs weekdays on ABC.
