WWE star Joe Hendry has addressed the reaction to his RAW concert. The segment with Danhausen received mixed responses from fans. Hendry has now shared his honest thoughts.

The concert aired on the 27th July edition of WWE RAW. Hendry and Danhausen performed until Ryan Garcia and Judgment Day interrupted. The segment quickly became a major talking point online.

Speaking on the Cheap Heat podcast, Hendry admitted everyone cares deeply about their work. He said his biggest goal is always to entertain the fans. “I’ll just be completely upfront and honest about this. We are all extremely passionate about what we do, and the goal is, and always has been for me, to give the audience value.”

“There’s been times when I’ve been on the indies and I’ve made a music video making fun of my opponent. I remember there’s one in Germany and there was like 300 people, and I’m like, ‘Man, I hope this joke lands.’ I’m behind the curtain like, ‘Come on!'”

Hendry also explained why performers keep taking creative chances. He admitted that not every idea will connect with fans. Still, he believes giving maximum effort always matters most. “You want it to land, and it’s the best feeling in the world when you give the audience that moment, that laugh.”

He continued, “And so I’ll say this: We give absolutely everything that we’ve got. I give my absolute best efforts, and we’re gonna try a lot of things, and some things are gonna land and some things won’t. But we will always give our best efforts.” [H/T: f4wonline]

Despite the criticism, Hendry is standing by the controversial segment. He made it clear he has no regrets about it. This week wasn’t great for Hendry inside WWE either. Bron Breakker squashed him in just a few minutes. The match came after Breakker’s intense staredown with Oba Femi.
