Jim Carrey had sweet words to say about a new woman in his life when he stepped out in France at the César Awards.
Carrey, 64, attended France's annual film awards ceremony in Paris on Thursday, Feb. 26 to accept an honorary award for his top performances alongside his daughter Jane, 38, Jane's teenage son Jackson and his "companion" Min Ah, each of whom he mentioned in a speech he gave entirely in French.
“Thank you to my wonderful family, my daughter Jane, and my grandson Jackson. I love you now and forever. Thank you to my sublime companion, Min Ah," he said in French, as his daughter, grandson and girlfriend received ovations from the crowd. "I love you, Min Ah. And finally, thank you to the funniest man I have ever known: my father, Percy Joseph Carrey who taught me the value of love, generosity, and laughter.”
It is unclear how long Carrey and Min Ah have been dating. In February 2022, Just Jared identified her as Minzi, a Los Angeles-area actress and artist, when the outlet published photos of her and Carrey leaving a charity comedy show hosted by Judd Apatow at Largo in L.A.

Carrey shares his daughter Jane with ex-wife Melissa Womer, whom he was married to from 1987 to 1995. He was also married his Dumb and Dumber costar Lauren Holly from 1996-1997.
Carrey was announced as this year's Honorary César Award winner back in October 2025. The French Academy praised the actor for his "exceptional versatility" across his film and television roles in a release at that time. At the end of his speech on Feb. 26, Carrey humorously asked the audience how his French sounded. "Almost mediocre, right? Forgive me, I didn’t speak French, but I’m just learning it. My tongue is tired," he said, per a translation.

Carrey most recently appeared on the big screen as the villainous Dr. Robotnik in the three Sonic the Hedgehog movies, released in 2020, 2022 and 2024. The actor famously claimed he was "fairly serious" about retiring from acting while promoting Sonic 2 before he reprised the role for the video game adaptation's third entry.
"I really like my quiet life, and I really love putting paint on canvas, and I really love my spiritual life, and I feel like — and this is something you might never hear another celebrity say as long as time exists – I have enough," he said during a 2022 Access Hollywood interview, while discussing his thoughts on retirement. "I've done enough. I am enough."
