Sean “Diddy” Combs went to the hospital after getting into a fight with a convicted drug lord, a source tells PEOPLE.

Early Saturday, Oct. 10, Combs was taken from prison to the hospital, PEOPLE previously confirmed with a source with knowledge of the situation.

The source further added that Combs’ injury was not life-threatening. The Bad Boy Records founder was returned to the prison Saturday and placed back in solitary confinement.

TMZ initially reported that Combs had been hospitalized with a head injury.

Details of the fight remain unclear.

“Sean’s health and well-being are our immediate concern, and we appreciate everyone who has reached out,” Combs’ spokesperson Juda Engelmayer told PEOPLE after the hospitalization.

PEOPLE previously confirmed that Combs was being held in solitary confinement following an NBC News report, which alleged the music mogul had been seen with contraband items.

Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison after he was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution (and acquitted of more serious charges) last year. He was credited for the more than a year he spent in jail following his arrest in 2024.

The music mogul is serving the remainder of his sentence at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security facility on a military base in New Jersey.

He is currently set to be released on March 2, 2028, after his release date was pushed back from January 2028.
