Ciara is rocking a brand new bob after chopping off her waist-length hair. On July 16, the singer debuted her latest hair transformation while attending the TIME100 Sports Gala in New York City.
Accompanying her husband, recently-retired football player Russell Wilson, Ciara paired her bouncy, shoulder-grazing bob with a pantsless look, sporting an ivory satin blazer as a minidress. The boxy double-breasted number featured lace trim and crystal embellishments. She styled it with some white pumps and a diamond necklace, while her makeup consisted of rose gold eyeshadow and nude lip gloss.

Like the true millennial she is, Ciara’s new ‘do included a fresh set of swoopy side bangs. Earlier this month, the “Goodies” artist was spotted with long curls as she attended a FIFA World Cup game with her husband. She and Wilson spectated a soccer match between Australia and the United States.
Ciara is no stranger to experimenting with her hair: For the 2026 Met Gala, she channeled Queen Nefertiti by wearing a crown made of her own tresses. Ciara’s look complemented the evening’s “Costume Art” theme and “Fashion Is Art” dress code, as the Metropolitan Museum of Art is known for its impressive collection of Egyptian relics.

“We wanted to create something that felt powerful, intentional, and rooted in a deeper story, so we reimagined Nefertiti through a modern lens,” she exclusively told InStyle.
Ciara modeled a sheer Celia Kritharioti gown dripping in crystal embellishments, matching its gold hue to her statement jewelry, which included a sculpted choker and giant rings that wrapped around her torso.

“It was important that Nefertiti wasn’t seen as an artifact, but as authorship, and as something living,” Ciara said.
“A lot of the inspiration came from exhibitions, like, Flight into Egypt: Black Artists and Ancient Egypt, 1876—Now at the Metropolitan Museum of Art,” she added.
