Barbara Palvin returned to the runway six weeks after welcoming her first child with Dylan Sprouse

The model, 33, told PEOPLE in an exclusive interview that motherhood has been “fun” and “scary”

Palvin revealed she’s chosen multiple costume options for her daughter to wear at their family’s Halloween party

Barbara Palvin is opening up about her return to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show as a first-time mom.

The 33-year-old model and her husband Dylan Sprouse announced the arrival of their first child in an Instagram post on Sept. 28. The couple have yet to publicly announce their baby’s name.

Speaking exclusively with PEOPLE backstage at the Los Angeles show on Sunday, Oct. 18, Palvin said being back on the iconic runway feels “empowering” after welcoming her baby girl.

“I’m going to be six weeks postpartum tomorrow, which I think in the U.S. most people have to go back after six weeks. So it’s not that big of a deal,” Palvin told PEOPLE. “I’m feeling great. I think it’s very empowering that the Victoria’s Secret team is having me at the show and we’re supporting women.”

Palvin hit the Victoria’s Secret catwalk on Sunday wearing a romantic, sheer pink negligee decorated with script writing while sporting a bouncy blowout and rosy pink makeup.

The model told PEOPLE backstage at the show that motherhood has been a “fun” ride so far.

“It’s been a ride, like a fun one, but also scary. It’s like a roller coaster, I guess,” she said.

Palvin added that her husband Sprouse, 34, is a natural “girl dad” to their baby daughter.

“Dylan’s great. He always wanted to be a dad, and I think he’s amazing as a girl dad,” she told PEOPLE. “I think he was meant to be a girl dad. He didn’t know it before, but he was meant to be one.”

Sprouse appeared a very proud husband at the show while sitting in the audience as he watched his wife walk the catwalk.

Palvin said of the new dad, “He’s stepping into the role. We’re both learning. It’s a big adjustment. We’re trying our best.”

After the Victoria’s Secret Show, the new mom isn’t slowing down as she’s already made Halloween plans with her family.

“I’m throwing the whole Halloween party, so everything [has been] planned for months now,” Palvin told PEOPLE, adding she has already picked costumes for her baby girl.

“There are multiple options for baby girls,” she said excitedly.
