Elon Musk's former partner, Ashley St. Clair, is getting candid about the challenges of being a single mom and being referred to as Musk's "baby Mama."

The former MAGA influencer, who shares 1-year-old son Romulus (born September 2024) with the Tesla CEO, opened up in a series of TikTok videos about her relationship with Musk and being in the "Elon orbit." In addition to Romulus, St. Clair also has a son from a previous relationship.

St. Clair, 27, said she first crossed paths with Musk while working as a MAGA influencer, and at age 23, she got swept up in the "Elon orbit."

"At that point in my life, because I'm involved in MAGA and the right wing and I'm already a single mom, the chances of me getting married and the white picket fence and the white dress, I believed that was out the window for me because I was already ‘stained' as a single mom," St. Clair said in the nearly 20-minute long video, uploaded May 15. "But, I wanted nothing more than to be a mom. I wanted more kids."

Musk encouraged more children

St. Clair said Musk encouraged her to have more children, and "the prospect of being with someone who wanted to have more kids" without worrying about "anything" really appealed to her.

"It's difficult being a single mom," St. Clair said. "It's difficult working and wondering if you're going to be able to pay the bills for your kids (in) the next month."

St. Clair noted that "economic factor is a decision when anybody has kids with anybody," and most people who "have more than two brain cells" consider their financial standing while family planning.

"So, when Elon was like, ‘You should have kids, my only limited resource is time,' of course, it is appealing to do what I always wanted to be a mom and not have to worry about the (expletive) going on in this economy," she said. "I don't think that's a crazy position to take, I don't think that's crazy reasoning."

The influencer insisted she was never looking to "make it big" or "this is my ticket to a Birkin," she said, referring to the pricey designer handbag.

"No, it's more like, my kids are always going to be taken care of," St. Clair said, adding that if she'd wanted to "marry for money," she would have done so a long time ago.

However, soon after St. Clair became pregnant, things allegedly got "weird" between her and Musk, and St. Clair claimed she was misled about the tech billionaire's relationships with the other women he shares children with, among other things.

"No one's going to believe me, but I swear he was so much more normal before I got pregnant," she said. "His demeanor was normal. I know I'm going to get roasted for this, but in private, he was funny."

St. Clair revealed she was the mother of Musk's child in February 2025, months after giving birth.

"Five months ago, I welcomed a new baby into the world. Elon Musk is the father," St. Clair wrote in an X post at the time. "I have not previously disclosed this to protect our child's privacy and safety, but in recent days it has become clear that tabloid media intends to do so, regardless of the harm it will cause."

Musk did not comment on St. Clair's claims until at least March 2025, when he responded to a video of her alleging he made a 60% cut to their son's child support.

“I don’t know if the child is mine or not, but am not against finding out. No court order is needed. Despite not knowing for sure, I have given Ashley $2.5M and am sending her $500k/year,” Musk had said in a March 31, 2025, post on X.

St. Clair later said the billionaire refused a paternity test and pulled most of the child support payments as a punishment for "disobedience."

Musk seeking custody of Romulus

In January, Musk announced he is seeking custody of his Romulus, following St. Clair's post on social media supporting the transgender community. The tech CEO, in a since-deleted post on X, said he "will be filing for full custody, given her statements implying she might transition a 1-year-old boy."

St. Clair, in her video, claimed everything she does "is like watched by eight attorneys, four different law firms."

"I'm in three different courts," St. Clair said. "I'm just so sick of this and being painted as like I'm the one who's like combative and chaotic when I'm in three different courts and I have people following me all the time."

The conservative influencer added she was sharing the details now because she wants to move on and does not want to be known as just "Elon Musk's baby mama."

In addition to Romulus, Musk is the father of at least 12 publicly known and acknowledged children, whom he shares with multiple women. He shares three children with the musician Grimes, three with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis and six children with his ex-wife, Canadian author Justine Wilson. Musk and Wilson's firstborn child died at 10 weeks in 2002.

Musk's son X Æ A-12 recently traveled with him to China, where the SpaceX founder was part of the delegation traveling to the country with President Donald Trump.
