Ana Zortea, girlfriend of Miles "Deuce" McBride, revealed on PEOPLE's WAG World series that the wives and girlfriends of the New York Knicks have a special group chat

She opened up about how that group chat helped her navigate the highs and lows of the season through the 2026 NBA Finals

She also described the emotional moment she embraced her boyfriend after the Knicks clinched their first title in 53 years

The girlfriend of Miles "Deuce" McBride revealed in a new episode of PEOPLE's WAG World series that the wives and girlfriends of the New York Knicks players have a group chat, which she said was popping off throughout the team's victorious 2026 NBA Finals.

Zortea, 26, opened up about the highs and lows of the stressful, yet exciting season during her guest appearance on the show just days after the Knicks secured the Larry O'Brien Trophy in the best-of-seven championship series for the first time in 53 years.

Throughout its duration, Zortea — who's a social media powerhouse with over a million followers across Instagram and TikTok, plus a former Brazilian national team swimmer — had the NBA Knicks WAG community to lean on.

"It's so fun. The guys have their own group [chat] and then we got so close too because we've been through so many months and so many games together. We've come this far, it just brings us even closer," she tells host Skyler Caruso in the episode released on Thursday, June 18.

"We have our group chat!" she reveals, adding, "We'd be talking during games."

As for what's popping off in the chat while the clock is running, Zortea — who's been dating the Knicks guard since they met at West Virginia University — was hesitant to share at first, but then she let it rip.

"Oh my gosh, during the games we just be stressed. I don't even want to say it, but sometimes we'll be like, 'These refs!' " she says with a laugh, recalling the frustrating and arguable ref calls throughout the playoffs.

Stressful texts aside, Zortea turns to the group chat for the girlhood.

"We just celebrate together, and we do planning and now we're all trying to figure out what we're going to wear to the parade together," she says in reference to the Knicks ticker-tape parade taking place in New York City on June 18.

While the WAG 'fits have been making headlines all season, Zortea said that, actually, fashion isn't the biggest topic of conversation in the group chat because they like to keep their decked-out, spirited — and almost always blue-and-orange — looks under wraps until it's game time.

"Sometimes we be surprising each other just showing up!" she says of their outfit reveals.

Of course, the girls have a name for the group chat — but don't think too hard!

"It's 'Knicks WAGs'," she quips with a laugh.

On Saturday, June 13, the New York Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 to clinch the 2026 NBA Championship title and secure the Larry O'Brien Trophy. Recalling the whirlwind celebration, Zortea said they didn't leave the area until early the next day.

"We were in San Antonio for so long. We flew back that same day, but we were in there until 3:00 AM!" she shares. "Then we just hopped on the flight and landed in New York at 7:00 AM... We're still taking it all in."

Zortea is able to vividly recall the thrilling moment she heard the final buzzer blare, with the final score at 94-90. She then rushed the court and embraced McBride for the first time as an NBA champion.

"When I finally saw him, it was insane. I wish I had somebody filming the entire moment for us. He was just out of it. He was like, 'We really did.' He had not processed it yet," she says. "So we just hugged."

"He and his dad were crying, hugging each other," she shares of the emotional encounter. "It was a beautiful moment, and I think he's still feeling like that. His eyes, it's like there's no thoughts behind it... Like, 'We're the champs.' "

"And I'm like, 'Yeah, you are. You did it,' " she says.
