Ever since Real Housewives of Rhode Island made its Bravo debut in spring 2025, fans have been buzzing about the new franchise, with many already calling it an “instant classic.”

The Bravo series introduced a fresh group of personalities, including Alicia Carmody, Rosie DiMare, Ashley Iaconetti, Liz McGraw, Rulla Nehme Pontarelli, Kelsey Swanson, and Jo-Ellen Tiberi, with Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Dolores Catania appearing as a friend of the cast.

Among the drama that fueled the show’s first season, one standout quickly emerged. Alicia Carmody, 41, became a fan favorite almost immediately, thanks to her memorable one-liners, effortlessly entertaining presence, and unforgettable love of crackers. Now, as the cast prepares to return for a second season, Carmody sat down with the Mirror U.S. to reflect on what the experience taught her. This comes after a fellow Bravo star chatted with us.

“I think the first season really helped me grow because I didn’t realize, like, how sensitive I was and how... so say if you broke up with your boyfriend, let’s just say, like, you have to talk about that over and over again,” she told the Mirror U.S. while teaming up with Ziploc.

The reality star explained that being on the show forced her to confront emotions she might have otherwise avoided in her day-to-day life. “You can’t run away from your feelings. It’s like, how are you going to deal with this? How are you going to talk to this, like, about your family?” she said.

Carmody admitted that in the past, her instinct was to shut down rather than work through difficult situations. Filming changed that.

“What’s, how are you, like, so you’re like dealing with the situation instead I would just run and just shut it down before in real life. But now it’s like, I have to deal with it. I have to explain myself what happened. I have to, you know, it’s like, you have to go over your emotions instead of just like running from them, you know?” she shared.

The experience didn’t just impact her emotionally, but it also shifted how she sees herself at this stage in life. Carmody said the show inspired her to embrace 'growing up', even in her 40s.

“So I feel like now I’m kind of, I’m also like learning how to grow up. I feel like I’m doing the business thing right now. I’m trying, you know, like, it made me want to grow up again at 41. You know, it made me be like, you’re never too old to have to, you know, to learn a business. You’re never too old to learn,” she said.

Looking ahead to the upcoming season, Carmody teased a new side of herself that fans haven’t fully seen yet. She said viewers can expect to watch her lean into her entrepreneurial ambitions while also navigating major personal milestones.

"I feel like my fans are going to be so excited to see me. Like I am a business woman. I’ve learned so much this past year from filming. I have like all these ideas,” she said.

In addition to her business ventures, Carmody revealed that her personal life will also take center stage, including plans for a wedding with her longtime partner Billy. “I also feel like I’m talking about getting married. Like I’m planning a wedding and I have no idea what I’m doing. So I feel like this will be fun for people to see me actually making that step for my daughter and for my mom that’s older, you know?” she added.

Fans saw Billy propose to Alicia during the season finale of RHORI, and are patiently waiting to see what's next for the already-iconic housewife.
